[Gary Numan] // UK tour

I am just back from a fantastic whirlwind tour of England and Eire playing keys for Gary Numan. We played 3 sold-out shows at The Forum in London which have since been reported as some of Gary’s best ever. Next up we rocked 2700 people at the Academy in Manchester followed by a festival performance at the Cork Opera House in Southern Ireland. Magic fun, bring on the next ones :)

[Gary Numan] // gareth added to live band

Just a quick update here. I was asked a few weeks ago to step in and play keys for the amazing, electronic music legend that is Gary Numan. Amazing opportunity and one I just had to take. Well, 16 days later, after 16, 16 hour days, 6 days programming, 7 days rehearsing and 3 shows, mission has been accomplished and I am happy bathing in post show glory. We rocked ass!!!12072684_895595197194674_1378939377144498404_n

[WANT] // remix and video released

Hi everyone,

I am proud to announce the release of a special remix and video for “Want”, taken from the “Postcards From Berlin” album. The remix is an “electro dubstep” mix which is something deliberately different for [debut]. I wanted to spice things up a touch and also simplify them, so for this mix I allowed myself just one day (instead of the usual one month!) and also I limited myself to using just one synthesizer. I’d been chatting with my friend and electronic music pioneer, Gary Numan about synths and he was raving about the old Oberheim ones so I thought I’d give it a whirl. I used just an Oberheim SEM V on this track along with a simple drum machine and the original vocals (by the fantastic Cyd St Claire) and strings that were originally recorded in Berlin. oberheim_sem_v

The video was actually filmed in my house in LA. I was very fortunate to get a great Vanity Fair photographer and videographer, Moses Berkson, to capture my vision. Trisha Kay was the model and stepped up admirably to make it “sizzle” as you will see when you watch it!! The film was originally shot for live show projections but this one was so hot that I had to release it for everyone to see who couldn’t make it to the launch party in May.

You can download the remix for FREE at http://widget-platform.fanbridge.com/widget/render/24457

More news as it happens.

[Upcoming Plans]

It’s been about 6 weeks since the album launch party and I have to admit that I’ve done practically nothing in that time. I had not realized just how exhausted I’d become from prepping everything for that show. The days were long, the jobs many and energy only temporarily high due to the caffeine and adrenalin rush I was on. So once the show was done I simply crashed. Happy but knackered!! It’s only been in the last week or so that I’ve started come back to life and to put some plans together for the rest of 2015. These are open to change but include a few things that I think you will find really exciting….

Firstly, I will release “Come Around” as a single (whatever that means these days) with a video (taken from the live show projections) around Aug 1st. I’m also working on a dubstep remix of “Want” which is sounding pretty awesome and I will also post that as a freebie sometime in July again with the live show projections serving as its video. There’s also plans afoot to release a BRAND NEW track and video sometime while the summer days are warm. Big idea. Much planning required. A “definite possibility ” :)

dupIn September/ October, the idea is to play quite a few west coast live shows once my multi-instrumentalist (Bryan Stage) returns from his european adventure……. San Diego, Orange County, LA (Viper Room), Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, San Fran and perhaps an Arizona show (I owe your girls David Davidson!!!) More on these dates as plans develop. If any of you have ideas for the perfect venue near you then please let me know.

So stay tuned, we’ve still ….. only just begun

[Live Show Photos]

We had an incredible live show and album launch party at Complex Club in Glendale, Los Angeles a couple of weeks ago. It was so rewarding to bring everything together for one special night. Genius photographer Tomo Muscionico captured the show in glorious black and white images that can be found here on the [debut] photos page in the “live” section. https://www.debutsounds.com/photos/live/

The plan is to now refine the set and show in order to tour the west coast in September. After that we hope to get a support slot on a nationwide US tour with hopefully a european leg to follow in the fall. you of course will be the first to know all about here at debut sounds.com
