[Live Performance Videos]

Part of the problem of growing the fan base for any music project, is that its hard to reach that many people through playing grass roots live shows. While it’s been a tried and tested method for many years, in the new, rapidly-changing music landscape it seems less relevant than ever. For [debut] its even harder to justify going out and playing regular live shows as the cost of putting on a show are just prohibitive when we might only play to 50 or so people in a local venue. I have to pay the band, hire a projector and screen and market the show, and while lots of fun, it quickly depletes the bank balance for very little gain. So instead I’m taking a different route.

In December I spent a day at the MDM Rehearsal studios in Glendale, Los Angeles filming and recording [debut] performing live. We did 3 songs, “Passion”, “Open Your Soul” & “Low”. It was myself on piano, keys and vocals, Bryan Stage on Keys, Beats and Guitar plus Shawn Ryan on Electronic Drums along with full film projections on a 20ft screen. A real live performance on a grand scale with only the audience missing! Cinematographer Justin Paul captured the session on wonderful 4k hi-res film and we are now editing these films to share with the world in the upcoming months.

The plan is to let people see and hear what [debut] is like live prior to going on the road. We are going to try marketing the videos to our target audience in each city and country, truly growing a potential fan base, prior to announcing shows there. Furthermore, the films will serve as a talking point and act as an introduction to what is going to be a very different live show experience. “Passion” – the live event will premiere in summer 2016 but more on that next time :)

Anyway, I am mid audio edit right now and the tracks are sounding really great. Here are some shots of what’s to come :
